Barcelona          (1 hour 30 minutes)

www.easyjet.com services both Valencia and Barcelona on a daily basis from most UK airports, whereas Reuss tends to be chartered tour operators such as
www.firstchoice.co.uk and www.ryanair.com

Car hire

We consider car hire to be essential for this holiday.  The drive is pretty simple, whichever airport you choose, as the A7 motorway goes straight through from Valencia, Reuss and Barcelona to Peniscola.

There are alternatives.  A train service runs from Benicarlo (the next resort to Peniscola) to both Valencia and Barcelona.  You’ll need to take a short taxi journey, though, to get from the station to the airport, and also from the station to the complex.

The guy who caretakes the property will, by prior arrangement, collect and return you to Valencia or Reuss airports.  It’s quite expensive as you have to pay for their time, fuel and the motorway tolls.  It’s not a cheaper option than car hire, but it’s something to consider if you don’t particularly like driving abroad.

Once there, there’s a shuttle service at Nerea during high season that takes you to and from the complex to the town centre.  It runs every hour and the cost is a couple of euros.  Lots of people walk into town, but it's not really recommend if you have small children.
